PHYTOREMEDIATION
Using plants to clean up contaminated sites
Example of Phytoremediation:
Outside the small Virginia town of Crozet, an expert team of environmentalists is using phytoremediation to remove arsenic contamination from a residential property. Phytoremediation uses specially selected plants to remove or reduce the risk of contaminants in the soil, water, sediments, and air.

Example of why is better to use native species after the bioremediation of the contaminated area:
After cleaning up contaminated areas, native plants promote the health of the environment.
